Extra Virgin Umbria was born in the village of Ficulle, Umbria, as an idea to bring premium Extra Virgin Olive oil directly to the consumer, bypassing the various middlemen who might alter or otherwise adulterate our fantastic oils.
Our olives are produced by small local farmers on family plots that don’t average more than 100 olive trees. These olives are typically sold to large olive oil distribution companies and then pressed and blended into bulk oils, thus losing what makes these oils so beautiful. The mission of Extra Virgin Umbria is to return the fruits of their labor back to these small farmers.
After hand harvesting and sorting, the olives are taken to our mill, here they are washed and pressed. The oil is then filtered, bottled, and sealed, with our dark bottles ensuring the long term storage of our precious EVOO and preventing oxidation that might ruin our fantastic flavors.
